Q: What are the basic things one should remember while playing Texas Holdem?

A: The basic Texas Holdem tips which come handy stems from observing proper etiquette while playing the game. You should not play out of turn. You should not reveal your cards until the showdown. When you fold your cards, make sure that other players don't get to have a glance at your cards. Also don't talk about your cards while the hand is still on. A mouth not in check, can give way to words which your opponent can make good use of. If you win a hand before showdown and do not minding showing your cards, do not just show it just to the person next to you. You may rather show the cards to everybody present rather than the privileged one on your left or right.

Q: Do string bets work the way they do in movies?

A: The real life has a different story to tell. In flicks, they show a character calling a bet for a figure and then raising another bet. In real life, you either call or raise. Texas Holdem tips in real life work differently than in reel life. Also, do not toss your bet in a big mess in the center of the pot. This may work in movies to exhibit a flashy attitude but it does not work in real life. You should just stack your chips neatly in front of you to bet.

Q: What is the biggest decision to be made when you play Texas Holdem?

A: You should know which starting hands are worth holding on to and which are the ones which you should fold. The important decision in every hand is when you have to decide whether the two down cards you are offered are worth playing or not.

Q: What are the worst hands and the best hands?

A: 2-7, 2-8, 2-6, 2-10, 5-9 are the worst hands. Further, 3-7, 3-8 and 2-9, 3-9 and 5-9 often ends in a tie. The best hands are Ace-Ace, King-king, Queen-Queen, King-Queen, Ace-King, Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack, Jack-Jack, King-Jack, Ace-Jack and Ace-Ten.
